Verizon outright banned people from doing it when I was a customer. They also had their phones "locked" to prevent people from trying. I "believe" that some Verizon phones now allow tethering, although I believe you do have to pay extra for this. If you are planning on buying I would double check what I just told you, since I am only going off memory and a quick Google search.

Los Angeles, CA		 Yes, they now offer this as an addon $15 for select PDA phones. My Treo 700p is one of the included ones. It was extremely simple to set this up with VZ and I am currently enjoying the "legit" tethering now WITH the evdo speeds.
