I have heard this mentioned before here in another post of mine. Is anyone actually using one of these or any of the assoicated hardware with the unit? -- Using a non-ports-system OS is like masturbating with a cheese grater |

1 edit | reply to AMD Phreak I know just one overseas Canopy WISP who has used this particular model.

PacketFlux follows exact same sync protocol as Canopy, so there should be no difference at all in behaviour. Just lower cost.
Disclosure: I am not associated with PacketFlux at all but I may use this module to sync multiple SR9 AP. It seems to be the lowest-cost outdoor GPS module around. |

| reply to AMD Phreak The GPS software sync method should work with all Atheros radios including CM9, SR2, SR5 but seems essential for running multiple SR9 AP on same tower.
The modified madwifi-ng drivers will be open-sourced and I will post "do-it-yourself" info when these cards are fully tested and readily available. |

| reply to AMD Phreak I use the syncpipe in a few locations and they seem fine. They have no data output, so with Canopy you can't tell how many sats or anything. Just that it is providing sync.
They may have a few newer versions out or coming out shortly that have more features.
As for syncing SR9 Atheros boards that would be good. It won't be the same as a Canopy system because that is much more complicated than the software sync I'm betting. Guaranteed it won't make your SR9 system work better in a Canopy environment. |

| said by IntraLink :It won't be the same as a Canopy system This is very true. Canopy platforms may now use the Xilinx FPGA for both hardware scheduling and TX sync. Also, Canopy BFSK modulation seems to be more robust than even BPSK mode of 802.11 radios.
I had posted some thoughts here about blending best features of Canopy and OFDM. »Re: Lowest cost 900Mhz gear |
