| [Upgrades] I Have 10Mb in Lawrenceville, GA right now working!
I just called TS to see why my 5Mb had not kicked in and the tech said "Oh, We also have 10MB in your area, would you care to have it?". Well after my wife finally woke me up off the kitchen floor I screamed yes. 5 minutes away to do some modem programming/reset and I was soon downloading of Apple Trailers at 1.2MB/s. (Yes, Megabytes BABY!) It was a bit jumpier than my 3Mb connection but who cares. It was jumping from 1.2MB/s to 500Mb/s but overall I downloaded about 50 MBs in under 2 minutes. I will do more tests tonight and report back. Come top think about it I did not even ask the price. HEHE
I feel like I am going to cry. I am so happy. HAHAHAHA
Cheers, John. |

I downloaded a 187.1MB file in 166 seconds. This worked out to be 1.13MB/s.
I did an upload at 125Kb/s average.

| reply to ac3boy Further confirmation. I just called (yes at 11:00 p.m.) and upgraded from 5MB to 10MB. Would have been nice if they sent an e-mail about the availability of 10MB. Nonetheless I made the plunge and was able to have them match my one year price for the 5MB at 39.99. |

How much more do you have to pay? I am on a 12-month plan paying 19.99 for 3mb. I wonder how much I would pay for 10mb package |

| reply to ac3boy When you upgrade are you locking into a one year contract? or are you still month to month?
They sent me an email offer to upgrade from the 3mb to 5mb plan for 49.99 a month for 12 months. Right now I'm on a month to month basis.
If it's a contract no thanks. |

| reply to ac3boy The quote is ridiculous does anyone else recognize this? This person is happy to be downloading at 1.2 Mbps when paying for a 10 Mpbs connection?!? When Verizon delivers 15 Mbps you get 15 Mbps. When Dalton Utilities in Georgia delivers 5 Mbps over a FTTP network you get 5 Mbps. I also live in Lawrenceville, GA and have recently been offered a 5 Mbps service. Sounds great right? BUT I previously had a 3.2 Mbps service from Charter and never once was able to speed test above 1.5 Mbps. If they can give me a 5 Mbps service why cant they just give me the 3.2 Mbps I am currently paying for and we can call it even. At 1.5 Mbps I cant work from home and have to fight the traffic in Atlanta with 3 or 5 Mbps I could actually work from home. However, Charter would have to deliver and they have not delivered anything to me yet but a bid, steaming, pile of disappointment. |

Megabits per second and MegaBytes per second are different things. He is getting 10 Megabits, and around 1.2 MegaBYTES. |
