| Belkin Router with SMC Firmware
Hi Everyone
I'm after some advice as I think I've done something quite stupid!
I had a Belkin F5D7630-4A modem/wireless router that was working ok until I tried to be a bit clever and put the SMC 7804wbra firmware on it. The firmware has installed ok but there are a couple of problems:
Firstly, the wireless function on the router now absolutely refuses to work. I've been through all the settings at least twice, tried disabling and re-enabling the wireless to no avail. I've tried the reset button, power cycles and absolutely nothing will get the wireless light to come on.
The second problem I've got is that since upgrading the firmware to SMC it wont allow me to change back!!! Whatever firmware file I try to install I get the error message "Incorrect user interface image" I have tried to reinstall the belkin firmware, updated SMC firmware and the same version of SMC firmware and I always get this error!
Is there anything I can do or is my router permanently borked?
TIA

| If you are lucky, you might be able to reflash the firmware by using TFTP method. I have not yet try this but I am sure you can look around the forum or google.
Of course, you can call Belkin and they should be able to replace it, just leave out the part about SMC. |
