| RJ48-RJ45 Can I use a cat5e-RJ45 for RJ48c. I have searched on here, one said that they are not compatible, the other said he was using RJ45 for RJ48c. I have RJ48c cable that came with T1 router but it aint long enough, and it has only 4 wires crimped. My RJ45 cable has all the wires crimed. | |

| Yes -- as long as it is a straight cable (not a crossover) and all 8 wires are crimped. RJ48 uses different pair from RJ45, so if you have a four wire RJ45 patch cable it will not work. Spent hours when I first got my T1 before figuring out the cable I was trying to use was missing a pair I needed! | |
