Printer server screwed up network connection?

Hello all:

I have a three computer home network. I use a Speedstream 6520 with a Linksys wrt54g router. Yesterday I added a printer server - Apple air port. After I did this one of my computers - laptop, XP SP2, Linksys wireless g network adapter - gets no connectivity messages. Laptop 2 (wireless) and desktop (ethernet) are OK. I had a problem with the printer server and had to reset it. The settings in laptop 2 are correct. Settings in laptop 1 (the one with problems) are incorrect. I tried to delete the settings from laptop 1 in the hope that this will clear some sort of conflict but I am stuck there too. I set up a port for the printer - 10.0.1.1 - and now when I try to delete the port I am told that the port is in use, even though I can't see what the hell could be using it. Any ideas as to what is gumming up the works? Is it the printer server and this port issue? If so, how can I delete this port? Or is it something else entirely? Many many thanks for the input.

New bit of evidence:

laptop 2 now gets an error message that pops up: "There is an ip conflict with another system on the network." So it looks like it was the monkeying with the printer ip that set everything off. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

make sure they are on the same subnet and ip range and that the ip isn't duplicated on another machine

I guess apple print erver uses an IP that's conflicting with your laptop. You either change IP of the print server or IP of your laptop.

What is the Lan address of your WRT54G? Any chance it's 10.0.1.1?
