I was checking some groups that I normally watch and noticed that typically I only see ~150K headers. I'm seeing ~5 million right now. Anyone else seeing this? Maybe they realize we need more than just 12 to 18 hours retention. The particular group I'm seeing this in is a.b.m.divx. As near as I can tell I'm seeing headers that were posted as far back as the middle of February.
I also noticed that there are a lot more groups available. Groups that I don't normally see. Yippee!!!

Erm what username and pass am I suppose to use? I tried my mail account info (....@insightbb.com and used same pass for pass field) I'm getting authenticated rejected... |

I'm connecting fine to netnews.insightbb.com without a password or username. I wonder if there is a download limit though? |

EDIT: Talked with support again and they told me I shouldn't need a username/password and try again in a couple of hours.

| Maybe it isn't required. It seems to be pulling headers and I downloaded a PAR2 file from back in march fine.
I get this in my logfile though..

I guess auth is disabled means it isn't required to download.

I'm in Peoria - it's going to giganews and erroring out. Tech support had no clue of course - said it was related to DNS changes. Said no user/PW required, try back later.
I asked if any other changes such as download limit, he said no. I find that unlikely. Oh well, this might trigger my move to DSL. |

I've got my newsgroups setup as they have been for ages now. But I hadn't downloaded the groups after installing the latest build of Vista on this machine. Yesterday when I did this. It seemed to me that a much larger number of groups where available than I had previously seen. Now I can't say this means that I've been moved to the new newsgroup provider. It's just an observation.
