I've been doing that for years...but there is something to be said about Gmail's fabulous AJAX interface, free POP, and plenty of storage/archive space. I finally switched over to hosted gmail and turned off my own mail server. |

Storage storage space is dead cheap, too. Granted, I might actually have to spend money on my storage, but my space limitation is then the size of the drive, not some limit set by someone else. I also don't have to worry about anyone else sifting my mail spools for advertising (or other) "opportunities".
