Free 400MB Webspace, 5500MB Monthly Bandwidth

Hey everyone, wanted to let you know of my new hosting service I just started. I'm currently offering the following for free:

»xtremefh.com

* cPanel X
* 400MB Webspace
* 5 1/2GB Monthly Bandwidth
* 100 FTP Accounts
* 100 Email Accounts
* 100 SQL Databases
* 100 Sub Domains
* 100 Parked Domains
* 100 Addon Domains
* Frontpage Extensions
-Requires some forum posting, for me details see here:
»www.xtremefh.com/content/view/2/6/

All of which are upgradable as follows:

* 100 Megabytes of Webspace - 25 additional posts (max of 2,000MB)
* 1 Gigabyte of Bandwidth - 50 additional posts (max of 20 gigabytes)
* 10 Extra Email Accounts - 10 additional posts
* 10 Extra Sub Domains - 20 additional posts

Again, this is a new hosting service and if you have any ideas about how to make it better (reasonable) be sure to let me know and maybe I can incorporate your idea. If it's a really good idea, I'm sure I can give you a reward...

Re: Free 2000MB Webscape, 5500MB Monthly Bandwidth

Wasn't there somebody here awhile back advertising a service similiar to this? You had to make x number of posts to get the "free" hosting.

Edit:
I found it, that was you as well

Well your entire business model sucks, and is destined to fail.

Yes, you were given many reasonable explanations for why free hosting is not always a great value.

All I want to do is tell people about my hosting, afterall that's what this forum is for. I don't really care about why it's going to fail and why I'm wasting my time.

Sheesh, these forums are so hard to get along with people in.

And you're well within your rights. We're also within our rights to point out the good, bad and ugly.

I hope that's not your mission statement...we do care. Our primary concern is that of our members and readers, and to make sure that they don't get shafted with a "here today, gone tomorrow" host...to put it lightly.

No that's not my mission statement, lol. Good to know you guys care and I do realize what you're saying about being gone the next day, which won't happen as long as I can get some members.

Now you have to tell yourself, "These guys have been doing this review stuff for years now. How many times have they heard the very same thing?"

The fact is that your business model is pretty crappy. How exactly do posts equal dollars? You're bound to lose money quickly on this.

Thanks, but no thanks, reason; your attitude don't help along with having to post on a forum just to keep free hosting.

Exactly there have been tons of these post to get free hosting "scams" if you will. You don't make money by having people posting on some pointless forum. The only reason people post on a forum is if it is USEFUL, not to gain lousy free hosting.

So what is your business model? Get lots of people to post and read, somehow causing your click-through ad revenue to skyrocket and somehow pay for your hosting and also buy you a new car? All without you lifting a finger? Oh wait you have to keep an eye on all your customers... some of them may get silly and run you out of bandwidth or something and you will be entirely justified by terminating their free accounts.

You can get shared web hosting for ~$3/month... is spending all that time (minutes? hours?) reading and posting worth $3 to your customers? Ah, but what about people who don't have a credit card and can't use their mom's? There's your market.

So your customers are the people who are motivated enough to really want to post on your pretty much vacant board, but aren't motivated enough to pay $3/month (3 double bacon cheeseburgers) for hosting, and don't really mind all that much if their site disappears tomorrow.

Or have I got it all wrong?

Give ya an example, show you what I mean: suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either.

Nope, you are right, he is targetting anyone that has no real reason to have a website.

He can't - it's a shared/reseller hosting server, not his own.
