[ATT CV] Using Apple iChat with D-Link DVG 1120M

I'm currently using ATT CV service with no issues. Call quality has been great for 1.5 years. My setup is as follows -

Cable modem - D-Link DVG 1120M TA - Linksys WRT54g router.

When I try to use iChat in OSX (Tiger), I get user did not respond error message when I invite someone for an audio chat. Could the D-Link DVG 1120M be causing the problem? I opened all the recommended ports in OSX as well as in the router as suggested by Apple. Is anyone else having this problem? Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

You should be able to put your DLink behind the router now. See if that resolves your issue.

Will the Dlink work behind the router?

From all I've heard, it works fine behind a router now. Last time I had one was in early Dec 2004, and it was mostly working correctly behind a router, with occasional issues (phone worked, but STATUS light flashed red). I'm pretty sure they've worked out all the bug with behind-the-router operation now, though.

Re: [ATT CV] Using Apple iChat with D-Link DVG 112

I recall I had a similar problem some time ago and found this of some use:

»support.dlink.com/faq/view.asp?prod_id=1333

However a quick google produced this:
"The Dlink DVG-1120M will not allow you to forward enough ports, to run iChat. You should try using the DMZ portion of this router if it is available. Alternatively you can try switching the router to bridged mode. You will need to contact your ISP to switch to bridged mode, so they can make the required changed on their end."

Good luck. Post back if you manage to find a solution.
