I'm not sure where you are hearing this, because it's not true !!!
There really isn't a way to come up with a better internet system. Plus, 911 and other emergency spectrum are not really moving that high up.
Before you try to come in anonymously to try and sway opinion, please get your facts straight.
Ham radio isn't a dying hobby - in fact was a big success during Hurricane Katrina.
If you believe the government will have something better in place anytime soon, I have a bridge to sell you.
