Re: [Connectivity] Spokane Valley Horrible service

Well I swapped to the 5120 modem last night. Around 1am I was able to pull in 8m on the download for a hour or so. Now this morning I am back to 1.9m, I guessing that proves its a compacity issue?

That's too bad to hear as my connection has been great for a quite a while in good ole' Spokane Valley (aside from some video issues). This all on a Linksys WRT54G & Motorola 5120.

Comcast teach just left, went through the whole thing again, including swapping modems again! Now they left saying compasiting issue's.

What kind of time and mess is this going to be before I see my speed again?

Then it's on their end if they tried a different modem.

You're losing FEC (Forward Error Correction). The Modem drops off line and tries to resync with the CMTS.

Since your signal levels are in acceptable range, I would replace the modem.

I used to have optonline for 3 years and my service was out once after storm knoked down a tree and cut several cables, it was on and running in 1 day. Now there was no no major storms but in the past 2 month I complitely lost connection twice and I do not have connection for the past 3 yes right that is 3 days. This is rediculous the only thing that stopping me is that I live too far from OCP and cannot get DSL as soon as I have any alternative I am out of here. Good by Comcast see you later and such and I advise you to do the same.

I had the same problem here in Mead some time ago.
Tech after tech came out without getting it fixed and none had a clue to what the problem was.
I finally got a tech that had seen this problem before and had the routing checked. That was the problem and once the routing was fixed my speeds have been excellent.
Ask the next tech if that might be your problem.
Good luck.

Linksys modem, netgear router. The speed doesnt change when the router is unhooked. On a ping test it starts and time out on number 2 attempt, then start again. On the speakeasy speed test, it start out real slow, takes off fast for a moment, then drops back to 50-250k

What modem & router do you have now?

I have been on Comcast for a few years with OK service. It should be 6mb speed. Over the last 2 months my service dropped. Now it runs 500k when I'm really lucky and 55k most of the time. COMCAST HIGH SPEED SERVICE

The techs have convinced me to buy a new router, a new modem and when that failed restore my computer. Finally one of their support reps came to the house and changed everything again, and with his computer still got the crap service.

What could everyone be missing???? I am ready to pull everything Comcast out of my house!

Any thoughts, suggestions?
