Following the trail of your and other posts I was successfully able to unlock my Vonage PAP2 and upgrade the FW. I was a customer of Vonage, but after about 6 months I wanted to change to BroadVoice so that I could make cheaper calls to Japan --my wife calls very often. I bought an SPA-3000 and then was left with an extra PAP2 until today.
I can not say anything bad about Vonage quality level or customer service. It came purely down to cost for over seas calls.
