| [ Express] Cancel (Goodbye) Rogers HS lol !!! Hello 3Web !!!
This is just hot and off the phone. Firstly, I spoke to 3Web rep earlier regarding signing up for their cable internet service for the "Gold" plan. No problem if you have your own cable modem (DOCISS 2.0 compatible)- got mine SA DPX2100 bought off eBay and same model as my current one - it will work per 3Web (need to give them the serial number and the MAC address, no need to buy the "Activation Software", Apple Mac users will not get any technical support because the absence of qualified Apple technical personnel. There was a beef regarding technical support but I was told they have added more staff and YES there has a been an increase in subscribers coming from Rogers.
Secondly, I called Rogers to cancel my internet giving them the 30 days notice but really not required since they were willing to do it in lesser time. Asked for the reasons to cancel, which they already know ( remind them usenet, price hike, etc) blah.. blah.., to cut short they were going to give me $10 off for Express @$34.95 and lite @$29.95 for a year. But told them you have p..sed off your customers one to many times and if you were going to give a price break, it should be across the board to everyone and not just to people calling in for cancellation.
So if someone planning to stay a little longer with Rogers and save some money, play your cards properly and sure you will get the discount for a year. Oh, yea.. first offer (from tech support people) was for 4 months and the second CSR I was transferred to (billing dept.?) offered me 12 months. Well, too little too late for them to bribe me now since my mind has already been made up. I will just only need to return the cable modem and AC adapter to the nearest Rogers store on the day the cancellation takes effect preferably on a weekday morning to prevent further last minute screw up by them. |

| reply to dontbugme1 Just cancelled. Im suprised the guy didnt ask me a million questions.
"Would you like a higher speed at a lower price?" "No, I know I will get the same results if not worse" "Well we dont have any network problems or anything like that" "That's the thing.. you do. Your service is bad. I would like to cancel" "Ok one moment please.." |

1 edit | If you are cancelling, PLEASE make sure you write to "The Office of the President"... »How to Complain to Rogers and explain to them why you are leaving.
They need to know that customer satisfaction is how to make money. |
