Re: [FAH] New to Team Helix?

It wasn't that it caused any computer problems, it was that it would have data errors and not finish the work unit. Was frustrating to run it for that long and have nothing useful happen. The machine now has a p4 1.6 instead of the pIII 450 it used to have so it's a little snappier. I've been working with computers since the days of the PC XT so I shouldn't have any issues I need to bug anyone about. Still have an Amiga 1200 in a box at my mom's house. Worked last time I plugged it in. I don't post much, but I definitely lurk.

Hello all,

I've been around DSLreports for about four years now. I've got a Fedora server that I figured I'd put to good use. Hopefully it will work better than last time I tried to run F@H. I'll know in about three days, when the work unit finishes.

Just recently joined myself. Running the client on a Core Solo Mac Mini.

I leave my computer on 24x7, but the majority of that time it isn't doing anything. What better way to make use of those idle CPU cycles!

BTW, my FAH name is the same as my BBR name.

I am up and crunching on a powerful Pentium 233, two Mac G3's, and an overclocked Athlon 64..

Sounds like you could be a team all by yourself .

Out of curiosity, how fast does the 233 fold?

The 233 has an average turnaround of .23 days...Not too shabby, considering its age, and the fact that it only has 64 meg of RAM.
