Regardless of who your ISP is..that's simply what they are: a Internet Service Provider...a gateway to the ENTIRE internet. How can you say that SBC is responsible for filling up your in-box everyday with spam is an unfair accusation. If you switch to a different ISP (XYZCable or whatever), and your throwing your email address all over the internet (signing up, registering with different web sites etc...) you will invariably get spam. You control your email Inbox. Try using an email client: Outlook, Thunderbird etc..use spam control features or spam killer software. One thing is true about Yahoo! software: the DSL installation cd is full of what I call "Bloatware", but all of Yahoo!'s features are to the best of my knowledge fully configurable. You can still connect to the internet without Yahoo!'s browser, toolbar etc.. |
