For a Road Warrior, sure. My question is how did the guy who is featured in the story avoid huge charges in Amsterdam.
Well it IS Amsterdam There are far more, um... recreational... things to do there than just use the Internet LOL.

I'd also note that Cingular has recently offered an international data plan. Verizon is not the only one looking at a global perspective. In my mind, the low marks on this go to T-Mobile who has the global infrastructure and doesn't do a darn thing with it. Come on T-Mobile, offer a plan which is "no roaming" on the global T-Mobile network.
My question would be, are we certain T-Mobile has this capability? I don't think they even offer EDGE data service in the USA (I am not sure though) and I haven't seen them do anything here in the way of 3G deployments (it might be different outside of the USA again I do not know). While T-Mobile certainly does have reach in most countries with regards to GSM-based cellular service, they may not have the infrastructure needed to provide data service.

·Verizon BroadbandA..

T-Mobile just turned on Edge in the US. Sony Ericsson has a wireless datacard which is both EDGE and UMTs compatible. I own a Motorola c975 which can connect to both the EDGE and UMTs networks. EDGE is clearly not UMTs, but it beats GPRS and is tolerable for e-mailing checking and web surfing.
