Verizon on a roll - only telco moving quickly

Verizon is the only telco that seems to have a mgt that knows what it is doing. It is moving quickly into new technologies and rapidly rolling it out across the country. Both the main company and its wireless subsidiary seem to be on the ball. If their competitors don't start picking up speed Verizon will become the dominant communications company in the US.

I agree Verizon is shining right now, but it's just technological leapfrog. In the late 90's and early 2000s, SBC was the one moving, deploying RTs making their DSL service more available. If I were served by Verizon I'd have been without DSL for the last four years (and probably without FIOS for another 5). And as far as cellular, Cingular, ATT Wireless have had the GSM/GPRS network for a long time. Verizon is just now finally getting to deploy something. Because they waited, it's far better!

Good things come to those who wait.
