Makes sense

For those who can afford it, it's good. The reason this is as expensive as it is is to recoup some of the costs in rollout. Case in point, tell me of any major carrier that has a network this large and with this much bandwidth. Certainly not Cingular or Sprint. In time, and as the competition catches up, it will get cheaper. But for now, it should be considered a premium service only available to those who are willing to pay a premium.
