|  [Help] Problem with Nero 7
Hello
I just installed the Nero 7 Ultra Edition retail box and when I try to open Nero Burning Rom it will open and then just crash every time. I get a Windows XP error that says:
Nero.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. Please tell microsoft about this problem. etc etc
So any one know why I could be getting this error and Nero Burning Rom won't run? I haven't updated or registered the program yet by the way. Could that be the problem?
Every other part of Nero 7 Ultra Edition seems to be working so far. I've burned some movie dvds without any problems. But I can't seem to make data dvd/cds, I guess because it's part of Burning Rom.
Please if anyone knows what could be causing this can you let me know. I really need to start making backups of my data. I'm running Win XP sp2. Thanks very much for any help. |

I'd rerun the installer, do a custom install and omit In cd or install just the burning program and see how that works. |

Thanks for the recommendations guys. I tried an uninstall/reinstall and it did nothing. So I downloaded the updates, 100 + MBs, WOW! that's a big update, considering this version of Nero was just released.
I installed it (Nero-7.0.1.4_eng_no_yt.exe) and it said it was a demo. I'm not sure if I installed a demo over my Nero 7 full version or not and if I'm now running a demo instead of the full version. Anyway, after I installed the demo and restarted computer, I tried to open Burning Rom, and it said something about a corrupted file in the registry, related to Nero, and that it was going to replace it.
Now it appears Nero Buring Rom is working. I haven't tested all the other parts of Nero, but so far so good. Thanks again for the help. |
