Maybe if there was some HD content?

Right now 99% of comcast cable channels are SD.

I try to watch the HD channels when ever I can, but most of the time there is just nothing on.

90% of what i watch is in HD and a majority of that is from the big 4. Now if only FX went HD. Maybe the new Fox HD channel coming in 2006 will carry FX shows.

Sad but true....I've got my Sony XBR960 setup w/ a Cable Card and a STB via DVI and optical, all of which I had to setup myself, beacuae Comcast techs didn't understand why I'd possibly want to use DVI when their free component cable worked just fine! :( He said...ahh that DVI is just a way for companies to sell expensive cables!!! And even further...why I'd need a Cable Card when the STB worked fine. (ever hear of PIP guys!!)

Anyway...the HD picture is truly amazing to behold...it's fun to count the droplets of sweat on Julius Jones' face in the third quarter of the game on a hot day. It is truly a shame that so many folks are wasting their money on HD technology and not utilizing it fully!

More proof...I set up a Samsung HD LCD for my dear mother-in-law about a month ago. When I visited last week she was raving about the great picture....yep you guessed it...she had the STB set to the SD channel instead of the HD one. It's gonna take a while before John and Jane Q. Public will be up to speed on this technology.

I don't have HDTV, but I have a similar experience.

When I was living in an apt, I had Comcast. I ordered digital cable, and because of the multiple pieces in my setup, I actually taped the coax, S-Video, etc cables to the top of the stereo case where I wanted the box to go. I wasn't sure if I would be home, so I wanted to make sure it was done right (my wife is not up on this stuff).

I happened to be home when ge came since he was actually on time. The guy comes in, hooks up the cables I have based on where they fit. He then turns to me asks, "How does the picture get to the TV without another Coax cable?"

Same here... only HD for me. It spoiled me! I'll flip the channel if it isn't in HD.

Which only goes to underscore that the consumers who ran out and dropped thousands on their fancy schmancy "HDTV" sets are nothing but gullible sheep. Have fun paying off the credit card fees. Next up on the seller's market...oceanfront property in Kansas.
