I currently have current.net BPL internet and road runner (it's $9.95 for first two months), I've had zoomtown as well in the past. Does anyone know when the 6mbps service will go live for everyone, any clues on the upload speed, and pricing? |

| It's weird, my upload speeds are actually very high, they do not cap upload, and I am able to upload at almost 600 kilobytes per second (almost 5mbit). However, my download speeds fluctuate a lot, down to 1700kbit some places, very rarely other than to the local speedtest site do I get anything close to 3mbit download. I play a lot of online games and my ping will randomly spike up from like 30ms to 130ms, which makes online gaming poor. However, they have tried to remedy the problem, and since they have not yet fixed it, I'm only paying $26.95 a month, which is pretty good. Out of the three cincinnati isps, I think I am happiest with zoomtown, they have the second best speeds in both upload and download, the ping is stable, and they have the best newsgroup server. So I'm probably going back to DSL, and hopefully DSL2 is coming quickly. |

| reply to buch3r First off, I wouldn't worry about getting 6 megs anytime soon peeps. Bell investors are advising engineering to take a wait and see approach. (I guess they will wait till Bellsouth, and SBC have rolled out IPTV and its successful before they even build out.) Hell, when I worked there they were supposed to complete 6 megs in march-april...guess what it got pushed back, and it will continue to be pushed back as long as bell has 150,000 plus subscribers...(why upgrade when people aren't jumping ship to competitors?
So until Bell starts losing ZT customers...don't expect an upgrade! |
