Re: [Modem] Need last version of Alcatool

What's the latest version you found?

From what I read there are early and late versions. Accordingly you have to have the right one based on how old or how new the Alcatel Firmware in the STH actually is.

I have alcatool-d8-win.zip with the date of the file inside of 05-31-2003 listed as AlcaTool 0.9d8 for Windows

I have 0.9d5 for Windows. The firmware I'm using is KHDSDA3.270 (1007413).

.281 (POTS) appears to be a newer Firmware so it's probably best you stay with the Firmware and older AlcaTool together if I read the limited available data. It's up to you on testing whether each version of the tool does or doesn't work together with each Firmware version.

The Speed Touch Home I have is the Ethernet version that I hacked into a Pro. Does that newer firmware work with the hack?

Yes. I had the .281 firmware working fine in my hacked STH. The only reason I have put the STH away as an operational spare is because the new Westell 6100 has a better analog side for handling difficult DSL loops (and it does ADSL2, also).

The biggest change I noted in the .281 firmware was much more stable DHCP Spoofing mode operation. That's what I used in my hacked STH to STP.
