The groups I use on Comcast are as close to real time as my emails are. Good enough for me.

Speaking of "noobs"... are you even aware that there is more to usenet than the binary groups and downloading files?
If you're using the old-fashioned text-based newsgroups (like me) there's no need for long retention and there are no issues with completion. I would be pissed off if I had to pay for access. -- The devil makes work for idle hands, but Stanford makes work for idle CPUs! |
