| Thoughts on the wrap....
As of right now, 10:26 EDT, there have been 1,205 threads started in this forum. To each and every one of you that contributed, my thanks. Since getting the first IM from Annmarie about this tragedy, like many of you I have been consumed by this out pouring of caring, sharing of emotions and postings of up to the minute news. Perhaps one day I will go back and count the number of posts that have been made. I know that will be an enormous number.
For your generosity in giving of yourselves so that I and all the others here could stay abreast of what was going on, you all should give yourselves a pat on the back. Our community here at DSLR has once again proven that it is more than just a bunch of computer geeks, we are a family. We are a family that cares, shares and dares. We care not only about each other but also for those who will grieve for their lost family members. We have shared our knowledge with each other and our available monetary resources in the relief effort. And last but not least, we dare to stand united as free citizens of a great country and tell the terrorists of the world that we have had enough.
May what ever higher power you believe in bless you and also this great nation we live in.

This has not only allowed us to keep up with the vast amount of information, but to gain insight to opinions that might have not come to mind in this stressful time. Sometimes in crisis we tend to get tunnelvision and lose the big picture.
God bless all those heros(and the families) who have lost their lifes, you will never be forgotten in our hearts.
And to all in the Military and their families you are in our prayers and thoughts -- »home.adelphia.net/~mcwdcb/Crisis···mark.htm |

It is unfortunate that such a horrible event caused this 'place' to come into existence.
Thanks again to Justin for keeping the DSLR family here, and for having the sense to close it down, as well. -- Find a cure - Join DSLR Team Helix! Remember the TWIN TOWERS! |

Ditto to that, Thanks Justin!
I guess it's that time where we have to mark this down in history, and continue on with our lives. It's a hard thing to put behind us, but it's something we all have to do.
I'd like to say thanks to everyone who posted all the pictures, and words of support and everything during this whole tragedy. |

| reply to MgKnight Once again, Justin and the mods prove DSLR is much more than just a place to get good advice for your system. I like to think that this place is the most unique place on the web. Never have I seen the administration of a site listen so much to what their users have to say, or place their users in such high regard. Never have I seen an online community so close and willing to help their fellow members in any way they need. A very warm thanks to all. -- As for courage and will - we cannot measure how much of each lies within us, we can only trust there will be sufficient to carry through trials which may lie ahead. --Andre Norton |

It was decreed today by pres. Bush that flags should be raised. So, I shall, and move forward. I can't even begin to express gratitude, especially for the first few days.
With that I bid you all the best, as this will also be my last post in here, at least in the context of a member.
Thanks again.

| reply to MgKnight To all of those who have gathered here at DSLR to share their feelings and their views in this, the beginning of a troubled time, I wish you each and every one the best of all things in the coming days and weeks and years.
September 11, 2001 will no doubt be remembered in the history books of all as a turning point in the history of our world and our times. We already see an alignment of countries that while possibly not what we would call a brotherhood of friends, we can see as a brotherhood in arms against a common foe. That so many can agree on this one point speaks to a potential of expanding that single point of commonality to something even greater and better for all.
The times ahead will be filled with joy, sadness, good times, hard times, with tales of heroism and stories of efforts that will be the equal of any legend of old. And there will be so many more stories never to be told, and of heros that will never have their names revealed to the world. But I say to you all -- you are each, one and all, to be considered heros if you simply keep the faith, give strength to your friends and loved ones, and "merely" continue in your daily struggle to preserve that which each of you agrees is worthy of struggle: the idea that men should all be free from fear, free to worship the higher power that they believe in no matter what you may call that power, and free to gather where ever you desire and discuss things, whether enjoyable or fearful, with whomever you choose.
To you one and all, I bid you a Safe Journey through the many days ahead. |

| reply to MgKnight I think the simplest, and greatest, praise this forum can be given is that the discussion were so much more intelligent, compassionate and thought-provoking than those on websites such as CNN. | reply to MgKnight What could I possibly say? I hate the fact that we even had to have a forum, the fact that this has happened at all.....but since it has I am truly honored that we were able to come together for even a brief time and help each other through the exchange of info, ideas and thoughts.
