| The Hockey players and fans show their support.
Here in Philadelphia even the hockey world halted to watch President Bush give, what just may have been the most important speech of his political career.
The NY Rangers were here in Philly for a pre-season game. They played 2 periods of the game and during the intermission they showed the President's speech on the over head monitors. When the 3rd period was about to start they turned off the speech.
The crowd then began to chat, "Leave it on, Leave it on!" So they decided to turn it back on and the players on the ice and the fans in the stands watch President Bush's speech. They canceled the 3rd period and left the game at a 2-2 tie. They players went out on the ice and shook hands and patted each other on the backs.
I heard one news reporter say (and I believe him whole hearted), that building was the most patriotic building that night. Yo go Philly!!!! |

| I love how the good folks in US can pull together. Hope we can keep this going after the war on terrorism is won.

And this was a game that had untold penalty minutes in the first two periods. With the history of these two teams, it was nothing short of a miracle to see... -- "A woman is like a dresser..."- Robert Johnson ***Contribute to the FAQ!...or else*** |

| reply to DelaWhere_Steve Lets not forget that 75% of the players are good old Canadian boys. Glad that Canadians are showing their support for our good neighbours no matter where they are. [text was edited by author 2001-09-22 21:35:33] |
