| Some Arabic/Persian Help Please
I'd like to be able to express to my Arab and Iranian neighbors some gesture of support. Can someone please provide me with translations and pronunciation for some Arabic or Persian (Farsi?) words that are appropriate for this situation:
1. Togetherness 2. Friendship 3. Brotherhood 4. Love 5. Peace 6. Anything else particularly meaningful for the situation
I think understanding how to express our tolerance for those not involved, in their own language, would be a potent sign of our unwavering adherence to some core American values.
Thanks,

| Why do they need support? I'm assuming that their American citizens right? And that they can speak English too. If not then they should express their support for you. People do the strangest things at the strangest times. -- Just Win Baby! |

| Thanks for the link. Unfortunately, they don't have free trial or a web interface. $350 to translate a couple of words is a bit steep.

Because while they are citizens of a country that proclaims tolerance for all it's citicens there are a few individuals in said country that might not be feeling very tolerant and might also be feeling ignorant too. I can only imagine they might be remembering what happened to the Americans of Japanese decent during WWII. |

| Thx AM. I had typed up a reply, but decided against posting it. I just wanted to give a message of hope to some actual, real, living people that live near me....not start some kind of ethnocentric flamewar. I appreciate your words.

Because if you were living in Iran or Pakistan right now (lets say you had to become a citizen for whatever reason), you'd feel VERY lonely and would welcome any word of English, any sympathy at all from all those muslim people. |
