I miss not being able to do that. There are times when I want to be on the computer and not the internet. But, I would rather not have an active connection while I'm doing other activities on the computer.
I seem to recall that some software firewalls (such as Zone Alarm) had an option where you could click on them in the system tray and temporarily halt all network traffic.
