We have a 900 mhz Trango unit that is pointed over a house next to it to see our tower. The person in that house has a cordless phone and when they are talking the SU drops off line.

Does this mean that some of these phones are so poorly built that they tranmit harmonics in the 900 mhz band?
Consider borrowing or renting a spectrum analyzer.
You need actual measurements to really find out what is happening.
