| *86 not working
I'm new to VoIP. I have an unlocked PAP2 using Broadvoice. I just got it working today and everything seems fine except *86 does nothing. I can access voice mail from my landline so I know its working. Do I need to set up something in the PAP2? I see an empty field called "Voice Mail Server". Does anything need to go there and if so what? |

1 edit | Here's the instructions on accessing your VM w/ Broadvoice. »www.broadvoice.com/features_voicemail.html
Did you set up a passcode? Default is 0000, followed by a # key. If you don't hit #, you'll get nothing. |

| *86 is mapped as the Callback Deactivation Code in the PAP2. Change it by going into the "regional" tab, and change it to something else (like *866, for example).
In short, the PAP2 is eating the premapped * codes for its own use, and not passing them along to the provider (Broadvoice). |

1 edit | reply to david_gruenb The suggestion did not work, yet. I tried 866, *88 and some other variations.
Could it have anything to do with the dial plan. Mine is as follows as suggested by the config wizard:
(*xx|#xx|[3469]11|0|00|[2-9]xxxxxx|1xxx[2-9]xxxxxxS0|xxxxxxxxxxxx.) |

| I can modify it, but I don't know what I am doing yet. I understand it is a placeholder system, but until I have time to understand the logic, I had hoped to find a preconfigured plan. I am using the preconfigured plan I got from the Voxilla Wizard which is posted above. Perhaps someone can confirm that is an viable plan for me or suggest a better one. Thanks. |

| Its working now by changing my dial plan to (xx.|*xx.|**xx.|#xx.) and clearing out "*86" from "Call Back Deact Code", forcing the PAP2 to access to the BV server, or so I have read. I don't know what I am giving up by doing this yet, but problem solved for now. Now on to the bigger problem that outgoing calls cut out after about a minute. See my post »[BroadVoice] Calls cut out after 1 minute for that one. |
