[TWC] Roadrunner blocking site?

I was download a significant amount of data from a website last night. Today, I'm unable to get to it.

Does TWC or RR block sites? I am able to get the side without issue from other ISP.

Traceroute from work shows last hops going through cogentco.com. Try "tracert www.videobox.com" from a dos prompt and see what you get. Also see thread "level3 breaks public peering" - if you're routing through Level3 that's where it's broke.

Update: Connecting to my home PC, I did a trace - it went through 4 columbus.rr.com hops, 4 atdn.net hops, one verio hop and then timed out for the rest of the 30. (At least I can get to and from my home PC to work)

Home PC doesn't seem to be able to get to Seti to send a complete work unit. Wonder if that goes through level3...

Take a look at this post: »[TWC] Level3 breaks public peering

Note the part about "Level3.NET has decided to turn off public peering with Cogent".

I find myself unable to access »www.photobucket.com today and it worked fine yesterday. I wonder if it's related to the level3 "issue" as well.

Very likely - I can't get to it either.

I have the same problem, but didn't notice it until about 2 PM. I immediately called tech support to ask if they knew of any problems accessing certain websites and they told me "NO". They said it must be some problem with the website or my computer. They had me on the phone an hour resetting the modem, checking wires, verifying settings on my computer, etc. After an hour, at about 3 PM, the tech said he was going to consult with his supervisor about what to do next and then came back on and said they just that minute got word that THERE IS A PROBLEM accessing certain sites.!! What a waste of time that was!! If there was a problem since 6 AM, the techs are not informed of it until 3 PM????? Of course, when you call for support, its always that there must be something wrong with you or your computer and never could it be a problem with them!! Hope this is resolved soon!

The reason you are starting to see DNS server issues is because since there is no route to the network, the DNS updates as well.

If you are using an ISP that has a link thru Level3, you'll start to loose any site that is only hosted by Cogent...

Again - please refer to this thread:
»[TWC] Level3 breaks public peering

RR isn't blocking anything.
