| java and norton internet security 2004 pro
I have NIS 2004 pro running on my xp sp2 machine, with both programs running up to date. Anyhow, i'm having trouble getting certain java applets to run (most specifically, my web mail client for work, which really frustrates me) while i have NIS activated. If i disable NIS, everything works fine, but not when its turned on. In the personal firewall settings i have custom settings with the personal firewall set to high, java and activex security settings both set to none. I'm wondering if i need to make any modifications to my manual program control settings or if its simply a glitch in the program itself. (on a side note, maybe someone with NIS 2004 pro who's upgraded to NIS 2006 has had this problem and/or had it fixed with the version upgrade). This issue is more of an annoyance than a critical issue, but i'd love to hear some input so i can get it fixed! thanks! |

NIS will ask you how to let the program access the internet, just choose Permit Always and try accessing the client to see if it works.
Also, if you are using a browser, check to see what settings you have set for Java Applets. Another thing, disable the Windows Firewall if you haven't already.
Hope this helps... |
