| reply to aomunoz Re: [PAP2] Unlocking Guide
Guys can you please help me?? I have unlocked this thing but cant get it to work with stanaphone. I am behind a router. I use voxilla's configuration tool and then I put the pap2 directly behind the modem with no router between them. Still it does not work.
Any advice appreciated. thanks |

| reply to O_R O_R, I unlocked the PAP2 successfully. But I am having some problems with voxilla Configuration Wizard for StanaPhone. I am not sure what I am doing wrong. I am getting "Registration State: Can't connect to login server" from PAP2. All I did in voxilla Configuration Wizard is caller ID, user id and password. Left the Auth id blank. Also I opened up the recommended ports on StanaPhone website here »stanaphone.com/help/firewall/ on my router. Please let me know where I am going wrong. |

| hey - i had the same problems - fixed it a few minutes back!!
Try changing the DNS entries to 68.87.64.196(primary) and 68.87.66.196(secondary)
in the System tab when in advanced view. it worked instantaneously for me!!
let us know if it works for you too!! |

| reply to rcilink Hey guys, uploaded the first file OK, then I got to the Sipura screen, attempted to get to the 'admin' section to set provision enable to "no", but it's now asking me for a password. user/1234 doesn't work, and now I can't upload the second file. Any ideas? How can I do a factory reset to start over?
Thanks! |

| reply to rcilink Don't know what's going wrong. I am still having problem to unlock PAP2. Here is what I got
" Error from 192.168.0.102 requesting spa.bin: File Does not exist"
Looks like it trying to find file spa.bin not PAP2-SP2K or SP2K-PAP2.bin. Does anybody have the similar problem?
Thanks for any help |

Does anybody have the similar problem? I think you're typing in the update URL based on the way it looks in rclinks post. The forum truncates URLS so you can't see the full address posted. This is what should be in your address bar after the http part 192.168.1.5/upgrade?tftp://192.168.1.110/PAP2-SP2K.bin 192.168.1.5/upgrade?tftp://192.168.1.110/SP2K-PAP2.bin
Another thing you can do is rename the first file spa.bin, do the first upgrade, rename it back and then rename the second file spa.bin |

| reply to rcilink I have a PAP2 on my network. The IP is 192.168.72.100 (DHCP from my router). I've been trying, but I am unable to get any king of web page to open up when I hit that IP address with a browser.
Is there a config setting that I'm missing that will turn on the web page access? |

| reply to krammer Thanks so much hedwigdaowl! The DNS trick worked! I am assuming that the older DNS did not work because they where specific for Vonage service. |

| reply to krammer Hi krammer, first of all the registration period should be 30 seconds (I know it is too low, but that is how Stanaphone SIP works. I only opened and forwarded the port 5060 to PAP2.
here is what I did and my current config: 1-) SYSTEM TAB: My DNS boxes are all empty. It takes info from Router DHCP. Domain is set to: sip.stanaphone.com 2-) LINE 1 SAS DLG Refresh: 30 UserID : ###Your Stanaphone user ID (Phone#) ##### Password : #### Special password from SIP Config Page of Stanaphone #### AuthID :###Your Stanaphone user ID (Phone#) ##### (No needed but I filled) Use AuthID : NO Dial Plan (xx.|*xx.|**xx.|#xx.)
and here is my Voxilla Wizard Config:
Settings under Line 1 Tab Line Enable 1 Display Name ####YOURNAME#### User ID ####STANAPHONE_ID######## Password Use Auth ID #### Special password from SIP Config Page of Stanaphone ####

| reply to rcilink I`m a little unclear as to what unlocking the PAP2 gives us. Other than be able to config it to another VoIP provider?
Perhaps these question will clear it up for some of us. 1)Once unlocked, will it still connect to my Vonage account? 2)Once unlocked do you have access to the config page at all times (even after sync with Vonage) 3)Do you get to see the credentials used to connect to the Vonage main account 4)Is it possible to use the info on the config page to configure a softphone to connect to the Vonage main account?
Thanks for the info. |

| reply to rudnicke looks like your web management page is locked.
try these steps: (I forgot where I took this info ;-) )
First keep the PAP2 adapter from accessing the Internet by unplugging your the cable modem.
Pick up your phone and dial:
**** Then dial 73738# Password is: (usually) 7756112# could be: 8995523# enter 1 to confirm press # Hang up
pick up the phone and dial **** then 7932# Password is: 78196365 Press 1 to Confirm and then hang up.
This just enabled the Web Interface if needed.
Now if you need the IP address of your PAP2 Dial **** Enter: 110# and put that number in your Web Browser You should gain access to the web server at this point. |

| reply to vincent9993 By unlocking the PAP2, the adapter is no longer tied or locked down to Vonage. Why is this such a good thing? Because alot of people have old vonage adapters that are no good because they do not have vonage anymore. With this, they can now unlock it, and use it for any provider they wish.
The objective here is to get AWAY from Vonage. If you are using vonage, this does not do anything for you, but if you ever leave vonage, then this can be of use for you. |

If I got a PAP2 and unlocked it, what could I do that I can't do now? |
