Rather have a Box and CD!!

I would prefer a Box and CD any day!

Auto update in games is great but for reinstalls and new installs nothing beats a CD. Poor dial-up users will be downloading for weeks before they hit 100%

Valve really gets me "Steamed" and not in a good way!

Yes but for every 1mbps cogent has in fiber or cable, they sell 5+ so your almost never able to use your full bandwidth from them at peak hours.

they still sell it retail. If you download it via steam, you can backup your most current copy to a DVD or a few CDs.

Either way, you'd have to go online to get updates anyways. Steam streamlines the process, as opposed to searching all over the internet for the latest HL1111 patch, and then the latest DoD:S patch build 1241, etc..

they still give you the same restrictions even if you buy the hard copies. I made a mistake in buying the collectors edition because I paid more for less with no additional benefits (although on a 56k all that downloading would suck)
