 Valve Increases Maximum Bandwidth!

Can't view it? Click here.

----------current-------------min------------max
Bandwidth Used 2,599 Mbps 1,765 Mbps 4,455 Mbps
Bandwidth Available 18,915 Mbps 14,325 Mbps 19,585 Mbps

As seen there, the grey line representing the maximum available bandwidth for all servers combined on their side and they just increased it from 14.3Mbps, to 18.9Mbps!

Go Valve!

Probably in prep to get DOD:S downloaded to everyone

I've seen 1.5mbps from some of the content servers. I wish Valve would allow us to choose which region we live in so it can pick a server accordingly because there are times where I would get stuck with a server that gives me 100kbps at 3am. I go to the page with the network status and there are servers that aren't even close to being used. Yet, the one I'm on is almost maxed. *shrugs*

I am on Comcast and consistently get 1.5Mbits from Valve and Valve Content Servers... however, I have never tried to update during a peak time like a release or new game.

The first time I downloaded my bronze package I had a consistent stream of 2.2 MB :O. After that I had to re-download it and didnt break 1MB. Sucks I KNOW!

I would average between 1.5 to 2.2mb. Now if Valve can only keep their forums up and running. Seems they go down several times a day.

I'm pretty sure Valve puts a soft cap in your download so everyone doesn't just instantly saturate their servers.
