More bandwidth = good!

Lots of bandwidth going to a company like Google with content is a good thing. We keep hearing all of these exciting announcements about ISP speed upgrades and fast FIOS, but what good is all that if it's too expensive for content providers to deliver things to actually utilize it?

We run a television oriented website. We'd love to host multimedia clips and lots of other exciting broadband oriented content, but we can't. Tens of thousands of users hitting our server per month gobbles through our allotted 500GB/month really damn quick, even with minimal graphics. Forget cool things like trailers and screenshot galleries.

The only thing that's gonna fix this situation is to get bigger pipes out there. I hope Google makes good use of the bandwidth provided by the project.
