 Internet Broke When Install Itunes 5

I installed the new itunes and was quite impressed by the new interface, so i went on internet 2 find out wat improvements had been made, and it didnt work.:( Turns out it messed up my ethernet, so as it is a wireless modem others can use it but the wired connection didnt work. After uninstalling itunes and reinstalling 4.9, all was well.:)

Any ideas why this may have happened?

Installed on XP SP2.
