| reply to Rene R One of the problems seems to be with the number of subscribed podcasts. On my Win Xp I had no subscribed podcasts and it upgraded fine. On my emac I had about 30+ subscriptions on upgrade itunes 5 found the library to be corrupted. I regenerated the library. The podcast subscriptions were gone, but all music files were there except that the added date was changed to the current date. I reloaded the podcasts by dragging "Podcast" artist to the Podcast header on the left side and then clicked "subscribe" again for each podcast. |

| Not just Windows users.. I have an OS X Panther in my office and an OS X Tiger at home. iTunes 5 works well in my imac at home but I am having trouble with the Panther. While it is being downloaded, it suddenly stops and asks me to close my iTunes... and the message keeps flashing and doesn't stop. The thing is, my iTunes is switched off during the installation and I don't know why or how this message is being generated.
Any help or bug fixes or plugins information will be highly appreciated
Regards, Ashish |

| where can i download 4.9? The link at the top just takes you to apple's website to download 5.0. I'm having a problem with 5.0. I use Adobe Imageready CS2 and this doesn't seem to work with Quicktime 7, which comes with Itunes 5.0, however it works with Quicktime 6, but then Itunes 5.0 doesn't work with Quicktime 6 |

| reply to ashbuzz Re: iTunes 5 & Shuffle
Made it a bit farther than you did, but also having issues with iTunes 5. Own a 2G ipod and a Shuffle. After first file transfer with 2G ipod, I had to quit iTunes, Restart eMac and restart iTunes to remount ipod - never had this issue with 4.7.1. This seems to have settled down now. However, eventhough the box to "start itunes when connected" is checked, my shuffle will not activate iTunes when i mount it - also never had this issue with 4.7.1. Files transfers seem uneffected with this new version, but the startup time is much slower than previous versions of iTunes.
Running all this on a 700mhz eMac, 1gb ram, OS 10.3.5
