 nntp speeds |
I rebooted my modem this morning and the best "real world" way for me to test my speed (saturate my connection) is via Giganews with 9 connections.
I've got the upgrade! It's a little more sporadic than pre-upgraded speeds (which varied from 3.8-4.1Mb) -- I now see from 4.9-5.8Mb/s Woo hoo!
Speed bursts don't really have an impact on this sort of testing, I NEVER saw higher than 4.1 in my newsreader |

That route from Sea.speakeasy down to san fransisco and back via qwest is killing the seattle test and the BBR test is getting hammered. the 10 Mbit test at »speeder.whidbey.net/ is working well, and is a good choice for western WA and OR
Http connection opened in 0 milliseconds Test performed in 15490 milliseconds Total bytes downloaded: 10485760 bytes Throughput: 5.1646223 Mbps
Your line speed is estimated to be: 6.1 Mb/s
(based on an average TCP overhead of 15%)
still getting a few dropouts, but it's getting better |
