Has anyone thought to blame Windows?

I use Linux (Fedora Core 4) and Mac OS X in addition to XP SP2 and I've never had an issue with a program screwing up the OS in Linux or Mac OS X. Think about this. You install a program and suddenly your CD drive doesn't work?! Now I suppose you might be able to write a program that changes around some config files or edits the kernel itself in Linux but aside from that I would venture to say that disabling a CD drive in Linux or Mac OS X simply by installing a program is impossible. Perhaps if Windows was as robust as Linux and Mac OS X no one would be having problems with iTunes 5. I don't know just a thought.
