Earlier today I clocked my 4 Mb connetion to Insight at 4.4 Mb down. I'm currently at 362 out but 4.2 Mb down. Not a new high speed but awesome support of what they offer. That at prime time on my neighborhood conn. |

| reply to zookrod What are your real world test? Online speed test will now see burst do to how Insight has the network setup. Other customers in other areas have reported increased speed test results. I think INTENS1 has seen the results of this in some of the test they have logged recently. -- Test Your Security Cable Diagnostics Iggyz Blog ZoneAlarm Help |

| That would be the one. That download speed is OOL speeds. Which if OOL gets it in gear - that won't be their speeds for to much longer. Verizon FIOS is starting to take some of their business.
For the record my speeds are still in the gutter. Maybe when we get moved to our new location this will change. I'm doubtful in this regard. -- Test Your Security Cable Diagnostics Iggyz Blog ZoneAlarm Help |

| reply to IGGY I was having speed problems (getting 3M when I should have 6M). All of my cabling was in great shape. Levels at my modem was perfect. I replaced my RCA DCM315 modem with an RCA DCM425 and it fixed everything.

1 edit | Even though that may have worked for you. It shouldn't in fact be the case. As I clearly said on my blog. If Insight can't make a network that will allow a Motorola SB5100 to work properly on that network. Then we have more problems to worry about than just crap speeds. And I shouldn't have to replace my modem that was working fine before their network maintenance.
With that said. I'm still open to the suggestion that things may not be properly registered. Or are needing a force re-registration. I'm also open to the fact that maybe I've goofed with a setting somewhere. But I have yet to track anything down on my end that is out of place.
If things are still out of line when we move to our new place. Then I'll have to consider other options. Unfortunately my broadband options seem to be limited at our new place. Unless I'm willing to consider wireless. I thought DSL would once again be an option for us. But that looks like a no go. So we are back to the consideration of - where is this competition everyone is so fond of mentioning?
I've just now done a few real world OOL test after resetting the modem and checking my router settings etc.
I'm still not seeing anywhere near the speeds I'm paying for. I shouldn't have to swap to a rented modem from Insight to get the speeds I'm paying for.
Previously this time of morning would have shown awesome speed results. -- Test Your Security Cable Diagnostics Iggyz Blog ZoneAlarm Help |

| I just got 4129 Mbps down again. I'm not going to tell my test site. I don't want a bunch of peep's hitting it and taking if offline. But I've trusted it for bad conns and for the first time good conns. I've got better than I've paid for. Have to admit I'm getting to like the Insight folks. |

| We have 12 condos in my building. I saw an Insight cable truck outside. Usually a bad sign, I have to make sure they don't split my cable with another condo again. I'll give Insight some credit. While dude didn't split my cable, he did f'up my modem (and probalbly every other modem in the place, lot's of tech service calls) a power cycle of modem fixed it. The nice thing is the Insight tech actually came up to my place and made sure I still was connected. That's customer service! |
