|  [General] Anyone ever get a retention deal from Bellsouth?
Has anyone ever gotten a retention deal or a discount from Bellsouth?
I called Bellsouth today to let them know that I'm considering switching to Comcast to get their $19.99 for 6 months broadband deal and asked if they have any retention or matching deals for existing customers. The CSR said they don't offer any deals. The best they could offer is the $32.95 DSL (which I have) or the DSL Lite for $24.95. |

| There have been reports posted here about folks getting special deals like you are looking for in the past. I think there is a difference between "considering switching" and terminating your service. Seems to me the past deals were offered when a customer called to actually cancel their service. |

When I called in to cancel my service, I was not offered any deals. I may have taken it and stayed with Bellsouth. At $42/mo. I was paying for ~1.5/256 where cable was $42/mo. for 4.0/400.
If Bellsouth would waive the $99 installation fee plus give me a nice discount (limited of course), I'd consider going back to them. But when I'm paying $42/mo. for what I can get triple at Adelphia, I'd go back.
Hear that Bellsouth??
