Now that they are investor driven I think they are trying too hard to continually come up with new products.
You know Rich, I agree with you 100%.
I love their search engine and GMail. My 5Mbps 20ms connection does not need a broadband accelerator, however. Looks good to investors to see such "innovation" though.
IM client lacked half of the features found on competing products, yet was met with raving adoration.
I think Google is effectively building a cult following much like Apple, wherein every inane innovation gets 300% more attention than it actually deserves. Cultists (I'm sorry, did I say that out loud?), bloggers, and analysts virally create a positive PR wall of sound investors simply love. | |

I think that's what most liked about it. It was a really nice clean interface without all the clutter of AIM/ICQ/MSN. I will admit that it could have used a file transfer function though. | |
