| Incredimail Website - Check this out
I'm updating computers today. I went to the incredimail website on one machine with IE6 and Incredimail build 2068 is posted with today's date. (8-22-05)
I then went to the same site with Firefox on another machine and got build 2031 posted Aug 4th.
This is the website: »www.incredimail.com/english/download.asp
Would some else please use their IE and firefox browsers and check this for me. I want to make sure it's just not me.

| Re: Incredimail Website - Check this out This is insane. I just did their third machine and it had posted build 1033 from April 2005. I checked the browser settings and they are set to refresh on EVERY Visit to the Page.
I even hit reload and got the same.
So I ran the upgrade link with the April 2005 posting and it downloaded the latest 2068 build.

1 edit | Re: Incredimail Website - Check this out I always download the full version, never the update or upgrade version. Plus, I ALWAYS keep one or two previous versions just in case I don't like the new and improved or if there are bugs in one way or another. I do this with all of the software that I download.
I, too, sent an email to Incredimail regarding my displeasure with their tactics. I bluntly told them my feelings and reasons for uninstalling the software. Whether they read the feedback or not, I guess that would be another story.
If anybody needs the prevoius version (2031), I'll gladly share. Just provide a place to upload it to (7.58MB). Or I could put it in my Yahoo briefcase.

But whenever I type an email, all the words get underlines and when I try to spellcheck them the words that appear as corrections are like: Beddigton, XE, WinterTree......what languages are these???
Please note that I have Outlook express in my system but the spell checker in that is wording perfectly. So, i GUESS THE English DICTIONARY IN MY COMPURTER IS FINE.
What do I do to rectify it?

| Re: Incredimail Website - Check this out Shan, I have no idea. Never ran across that before. In the toolbar of the new email, by the font chooser and emoticons, make sure that you don't have the big U button turned on. That is how things get underlined. Other than that, no idea. I am not an Incredimail expert. If you are a Premium user, contact their tech support. If they tell you to install the newest version, TELL THEM WHERE TO GO!!:D | |

| I'm having a similar problem of everything I type is underlined as a spelling error...but I don't have an English Dictionary installed...there are no words in the Dictionary when I spell check. Does anyone know where the Dictionary is located in my files? I tried looking in each and every folder and could not find it. Thanks in advance for any advise. | |

| said by Bornloser :I downloaded and installed the newest version. As soon as I saw that the Junk Mail Filter was now an add on that required more money, I uninstalled it and went back to the previous version. This business of having to pay for something that was previously free is rediculous, especially when you are a premium user. I purchased the program a couple of years ago and never regretted it until now. They can at least give us the option of having the original filter or pay for the premium junk mail filter . I'm with you. No way I am paying for it. I bought my premium license 2 or 3 years ago too. Enjoyed the app until monday when I downloaded the latest build.
They should have left the features intact and made their Plus just what it means... "in addition to..." But the way they have it now, it's all or nothing on the filter.
I already contacted them through the VIP links to b!tch about what they did. More than likely nothing will become of it, but if they get enough of the emails like I sent something may sink in.
Just wait until they start charging for the emoticons!

| I'm a Incredimail Premium user. Build 2068. I just received an e-mail from Incredimail offering their Junk Filter Plus at a discount. From what I see, this new Junk Filter Plus is a spam blocker that filters spam automatically instead of you having to block and delete spam manually from the Junk And Unapproved folder. I don't see the big deal. If you want it, buy it. If not, don't. I don't think they are forcing it on you.
I had to uninstall my 2068 about a month ago, and when I reinstalled, the Junk And Unappoved folder was still there. I'm not sure if I will purchase this Junk Filter Plus, since I don't received a lot of spam.

1 edit | Re: Incredimail Website - Check this out No, they are not forcing it on you. But, if you install their newest version of Incredimail, it does not have a filter unless you purchase the "new and improved". If you try to turn on the filter in the new version, it takes you to their web site where you have the option to purchase it. That is total BS. They should at least still make available to us the filter that was in the previous versions with the option to "upgrade". Not just leave us high and dry. That is the big deal!!

 Ohio Attorney
@cox.net
| Apparently Incredimail did not clear its new policy of subscription-only junk mail filtering with its attorneys prior to removing its Incredimail Premium customers' access to their traditional (free) filter.
Their attorneys would have advised that those who previously had purchased, and paid for, Incredimail Premium WITH junk mail filter entered into a binding contract with Incredimail (and vice versa; there is no such thing as a unilateral contract. If one of the parties is bound, all are bound).
Incredimail subsequently changed (indeed, deleted altogether) one of the elements of that contract - i.e., junk mail filtering. In so doing, Incredimail has BREACHED its contract with every pre-existing Incredimail Premium purchaser.
You may be certain Incredimail is going to be sued over this breach, almost certainly by a New York-based attorney (God love him or her), inasmuch as its License Agreement specifies that any disputes must be brought under New York law.
I can't wait.:D | |

Being one of the premium customers, I would like to see that happen. The first thing they did prior to this was to separate their graphics between the free ones and the gold membership ones. Prior to that, all their letters, skins, etc were completely available to anyone that wanted to donwload them. That was in place when I became a premium member. Not long after that, they decided they needed to charge people for the additional letters, etc. I contacted the Better Business Bureau regarding their removal of the included filter. I wouldn't have minded if they had kept the free one and offered the "upgrade" but I can't see paying an annual fee for something this is working fine for me.

Basically the response, very politely, was "tough luck". I reinstalled 2031 and I'll stick with it until there is a change in their policy.

| As I stated in my previous post on the first page of this thread dated 08/24/05, I'm a IncrediMail Premium user.
I decided to upgrade and purchase JunkFilter Plus. Looking back, not a good decision. JunkFilter Plus is not a hell of a lot different than the old junk filter. I decided it wasn't worth it and e-mailed IncrediMail for a refund. They give you 14 days. I ran my GoBack software so I could have my old version back.
Fourteen days went by before I heard anything from IncrediMail. The sales rep tried to talk me into keeping JunkFilter Plus by telling how great a product is is, and that he was waiting for my reply. I replied and stated that I was not happy with it, and that I still wanted a refund. That was six days ago. I haven't had a reply yet. I'm getting this funny feeling, that I may be out $19.95. Oh well, lesson learned.

| Thanks for posting bornloser, I downloaded version 2031 from the link - no problem there, but I can't get it to install!:( whenever I click on it the installation wizard starts and then just dissapears? never had that happen before, I've tried several times with the same result? Wonder if this is something to do with the fact that I still have the new version installed? (didn't want to uninstall until I was sure this one would work) I had heard on another forum, that Incredimail has fixed it so that once you install the new version, you can't go back to an older one though it looks as though some people here have mangaed to? | |

| Re: Incredimail Website - Check this out You need a good registry cleaner. Use it to remove EVERY instance of Incredimail. I use registry First Aid. It does a pretty good job. I still had to manually go into the registry, do a search for Incredimail and delete the leftovers. Only then would the older version install for me. If you're not comfortable editing the registry, I guess you are (no offense) SOL! The only other option, if you are really serious about the older version, is to format. | |

| I was searching to try to figure out what to do about this mess, and came across this thread. I am a premium user of Incredimail, and all was fine and dandy, until I had to switch everything over to my new computer. I was furious. It is extortion to charge that amount of money for something that was included at the time of purchase. They are definitely in breach of their contract. When I pointed this out to them I got the same robo response you can use the new . . .blah blah blah, then a 50% off coupon. When I created the message rule that was mentioned above, it worked for a short time, then it stopped working, as it seemed to become diabled by their locked junk filter(must have spyware to be able to do this). I am thinking to unistall the whole works, Any ideas on what to switch to? I really like to personlize my mail. Anyone know of another program? Has anyone tried Pegasus? | |

| I've got the old pre-'JunkFilter Plus' version of Incredimail here. The version I have is the older XE (premium) with the free Junkfilter and I personally think it's the most stable version and user-friendly of Incredimail there ever was. I still have the install file .exe if anyone wants me to send it to them. It's very large though, over 7MBs I think... maybe if I e-mail it to you I can send it as a split file attachment in several seperate e-mails, using 'Mastersplitter' (a free program) but then you'd need Mastersplitter or something similar to join the split files together again (Google for Mastersplitter). Then you could reinstall the older version of Incredimail.
If you've had the latest version of Incredimail installed, you would need to delete a few things in the registry after you uninstall the latest version, prior to reinstalling the older version. Otherwise Incredimail won't let you install an older version, even though you've deleted the newer one, without making those fairly easy changes to the registry... (just deleting a few keys, but your old data remains intact). I can explain how to make the registry key changes in the e-mail.
I'm doing this because I'm disgusted with the unethical crooks who run Incredimail now. If you want me to send you the old version then e-mail me at: favtoad(at)hotmail.com (I sure hope there ain't thousands of you!)

1 edit | Re: Incredimail Website - Check this out
Further to my last (above), if your inbox can take approx 7.8MBs of Incredimail Install File (an exe file so don't let your virus detector delete it), then I can send the exe file whole (I think) instead of splitting it into smaller files. Reading other messages in this thread, I also have the English Dictionary install file for Incredimail here somewhere. You could probably download it direct from Incredimail, but we all know (by now) that you don't always get what you bargained for when you install anything direct from there. If you need the English Dictionary for Incredimail sent to you in an e-mail, I can do that. Just e-mail me at the address given in my previous message in this thread. Good Luck! .....
