Is anyone having trouble with Via Talk? I am not able to make or receive calls. I have tried rebooting my Linkysys pap2 but to no avail. |

| reply to badhutx While I was talking to the guy from support the device came back on it's own. This happen to me about 3 or 4 days ago also. Brandon responded to my e-mail support ticket that I submitted with the following. FYI I also have a Vonage box plugged into my Linksys WRT54G.
Phone Outage
It is possible that the router may have been forwarding the traffic to the vonage box causing the viatalk provided device to be unable to register. That would explain it working, then not, then coming back. Try (for testing) unplugging the vonage provided device, then, restarting the viatalk provided one, to see if it registers and you are able to make recieve calls. |

| reply to badhutx After 2 weeks of using Via Talk without any issues, I suddenly have no dial tone this evening
I have not been able to get a dial tone since 8/19 6pm EDT. It may have gone down earlier in the day.
I started a support ticket that evening but I haven't heard back. (QLN-88043)
Linksys WRT54GP2 voice status page says: Registration Status: [My Name] [My Phone number] Can't connect to login server
I have tried resetting the cable modem and the linksys router.
Internet works fine.
I'm using Comcast. My phone adapter is plugged directly into the cable modem. My computer is plugged into the phone adapter which is also a router.
From my computer I tried the following command to prove that the TFTP port is open.
tftp tftp.vonage.net get test Transfer successful: 5 bytes in 1 second, 5 bytes/s
After my web based support ticket didn't get any response and I had been down for 12 hours I tried calling. I sat on hold. My cell phone's call timer read 46:02 minutes when I lost the signal and gave up. Most of that time it told me I was first in line. That means to me that zero support calls were answered between 9am and 9:45 on 8/20/2005 at ViaTalk.
I'm trying to replace my land line with ViaTalk. However my service being down for 12 hours is unacceptable and having no way to get service back up is also not good enough. I may have to go back to Verizon. Without good uptime and support ViaTalk cannot replace the land line.
I enjoy experimenting with VOIP. Paying $15/ month to replace my Verizon bill is a great deal. However if I have to keep Verizon for a reliable connection paying an additional $15/month for a toy phone service is too expensive. |

| There were not widescale outages this morning or yesterday. Your ticket about forwarding to free world dialup (im assuming this is what you are referring to?) is awaiting a reply because I'm having this custom coded and added to our switch so you can do it, along with the rest of our customers. Its going to take a week or two to get fully tested and implemented.
