I remember in '92, my sophomore year of college, I got FREE dialup service from the college (I lived off campus), and I thought that was the most awesome thing in the world.

When I was in college, we had it great: we had data switches in our dorm that allowed you to use SLIP to connect your computer to the college backbone.

| Same way at my school back in the day. 19.2k connection on-campus when dial up modems were running at 9600...but then I had to put up with my roommate who hardly ever showered.:(
