Well.. No ... Took the exact same HDD Western-Digital except ive took a 300gigs ... 7200rpm 8mb cache.
Thats it ... Now I can record 150+ hours Thats good for archive good movie and tv series 
No temp warning or shit like that ... Ive keept the old one ... I will plug it in the SATA port later ! |

Try to remember your HDD if you need to change the terminal from a Videotron technician...
Technician: "The guy was crazy, he takes his screw driver to take the HDD out and change it for a new one..." |

1 edit | reply to SpOuK30 That's pretty lucky, I'd say. There IS an intrusion detection, but I guess it was phased out in Videotron's port of SARA. Speaking of which, older versions of SARA did not even detect and format different hard drives...
Well, good to hear it's worked for someone now anyway!
For those feeling frisky, external SATA drives shouldn't be disabled on Explorer 8300's. Do note you have to get the Maxtors (and some WDs, I think) which specifically mention Explorer support, and that they're not officially supported by Videotron yet.  |
