I'm evil. I have both Verizon and Comcast

I also qualify for the Verizon 3.0/768 plan ($29.95/mo for the first year) and if Verizon ever actually deploys the 7.0/768 I'll qualify for that as well

$42.95 + some tax for 4000/384, getting around 3200/340
our whole bill has about $13 in taxes alone.

but we don't have a lanline and BS won't sell me DSL at the same speed for the same price, can't justify paying $12 for a line + $8 in tax for something I don't use

$42.95 + $10.00 for Gold.
I get all of the 6mbps.
Bang for buck, Comcast is a good deal.

A few months ago, Comcast was offering current subscribers to HSI a "promotional" rate of $29.99 a month for 12 months. I have no idea whether it's still being offered, but all I had to do was call billing and ask about this rate. For those of us without cable TV (go satellite!), this is a big savings.

EDIT: I have 4000/384

I have the 6/384 silver tier for $42.95 a month plus $3 for modem rental for a total of $45.95. Speeds are better than expected;)

Comcast would cost me $56.95 per month, plus a $50.00 install fee; no cable TV. Won't switch from DirecTV. They had a six month promotion, $19.95, but that was all. I don't know if it still applies. I don't know what speed plan they are on in my neighborhood; west San Jose, California.

SBC Yahoo! DSL Service is currently costing us $19.95 per month for 1.5dl/.384ul. I could get the 3.0dl/.384ul package for $29.95, but the MPOE tag suggests the line can't handle over 2.25dl.

Price over speed is my current preference; but if I were rich I think I would go with the speed.

You might want too save yourself 5 bucks a month.. Sbc has that package for 14.95 if you call rerate and renew a one year term.

Normal price for Comcast 4/384 (soon to be 6/384) tier for 42.95/mo. however I received a promo price of 19.99/mo. about three months ago for a 12 month period. No other provider in my area can touch this price or speed. Comcast Rocks.

I pay way too much - about $57.00 here for 6/768 after taxes and stuff.. needs to go down by about half.
