Sounds like a plan. Since you have live in the British Properties, how about you buy me a house?

I think they had major problems all over the lower mainland for the last few days. Slow internet browsing and intermittent stoppages. Yesterday was the worst.

I complained for like 9 months (Mission, BC). I suffered from slow ass speeds and major latency and lag in gaming. I got 10% credit for the last 8 months (only would give me that because of the latency in gaming as they claimed I had a wireless router and therefor the DL speeds were fine even though they weren't). I was also bitching about my cable TV connection and got 50% credit for the last 6 months for that.

Nuff said..they are throttling in this area.

Blondee: I sent you another PM. There seems to be a problem I noticed so you can't do the speed test from there.

I use 3web in BC which uses Shaw, my speed results are horrible:

I get random lagspikes in games that make them nearly unplayable too =/

I just got set up with Shaw high speed cable in Alberta.

Over this first month, daily tests with Shaw and others' speed tests have shown wildly varying speeds. I'll do three of each at a time, without my router - just modem to 'puter - and this is what I'll get:
Down - 6xx kbit/s, Up - 1xx kbit/s
D - 7xx kb/s, U - 2x kb/s
D - 5xx kb/s, U - 1x kb/s

So, sometimes my upload speeds are only slightly restricted, and at other times they are stupidly slow. Shaw is sending out a tech with a replacement modem, and after complaining a few times, they have given me a credit for this first month (half off).

Out here Shaw is better than Telus, simply because Telus is evil. I'm sticking it out.

Re: Sluggish Speeds: Anyone getting a monthly cred

First you have to let them try and fix your connection. After say the third tech and they still cant fix it call sales and ask for a credit since you lodged your first complaint. If they get enough people in an area asking for credits and complaining all the time chances are they will upgrade that neighborhood sooner than other neighborhoods.

The problem is that they must come to your place, waste your time. I know someone who said that after they came over their place, they got robbed. The odds are in their (SHAW) favour that when they try to search for a problem, they find NFF (No fault found).

Two days ago, in the evening, the speeds were great (Shaw normal speeds). Yesterday and today they are 1/2 of what they were two days ago.
