Short way - you should be able to access the registration page on insight and add your router there.
Long way - Access the admin setup for your router, and then go to the MAC spoofing portion. Enter in your computer network card's MAC (hardware) address, and then insight will see your router as your computer and let you surf like normal.
Do you still have your router's instructions? It should have the IP address printed there somewhere. You can also download the manual from the website if you don't have it. Or just post what brand/model of router you have, and I'm sure someone can tell you what it is. Granted, if you bought the router used from someone, they could have changed the router's IP address. In which case, you'll want to do a hard reset and change everything back to default. |

| I have a 3Com OfficeConnect router model #3C16700A . It was used previously, so a hard reset may be in order. I don't have the instructions that came with it. I have been referring to the PDF "manual" off of the 3Com site. I swear it doesn't list an IP in there or instructions on a hard reset. There doesn't appear to be an actual reset button on the router so I need instructions on how to do that. |

Hubs only let you connect various computers together so they can see each other. They provide none of the router functions which let you connect your ISP's line and share your Internet connection. You just need to aquire is a router instead. |

My dad got this "router" used from work and I didn't really think about it being a hub and not a router. I've never done any networking before, so it never crossed my mind that it wasn't actually a router. Well, that takes care of that. Thanks. |

1 edit | At least routers aren't too expensive these days. A few years ago they cost quite a bit more (well over a $100). You should easily find one under $50 and could probably get a used for around $25. |
